Making your own arrows is like handloading; there’s no better way to ensure accuracy and consistency from shot to shot. Custom archery supplies, like arrows cut to length, with custom fletch configurations and arrow specifications, can fight wind drift and other imposing factors.
But for most archers, especially casual shooters, and hunters, buying pre- fletched arrows with inserts installed that are ready to shoot is the way to go. It’s easier, simpler, and more affordable - and it saves time.
Just make sure to match the spine of the arrow to the weight of the bow, shoot arrows appropriate for your draw length, and match the weight of the arrow to the bow and the shooting discipline (hunting vs. target shooting).
